DS Consultants Ltd (DS) is a consulting engineering firm which specializes in geotechnical, environmental, hydrogeology, building science, materials inspection, and testing. Our head office is in Vaughan, Ontario with branch offices located in Barrie/Collingwood and Cambridge. Our team currently consists of 130+ highly qualified and experienced engineers, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, technologists, and support staff.
We are seeking a Intermediate Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist to join the DS team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to further develop their career in an exciting and growing work environment.
Requirements:
- University graduate with a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in environmental or geological, engineering/sciences
- Professional designation, licensed with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) is an asset
- 4-8 years related experience in environmental engineering and field investigations (preferably in a consulting environment
- Qualified Person (QP) by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of O.Reg.153/04 and O.Reg. 406/19 as amended
- Business development, project management, client service management, staff development and mentoring
- Ability to complete Phase One Environmental Site Assessments, Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments, Soil and Groundwater Remediation and Records of Site Condition
- Full cycle project management including proposal development, correspondence with Clients, supervision of project execution, report review and invoicing
- Ability to demonstrate full cost and program control to meet project requirements for assigned tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong report writing skills and verbal communication in English is essential
- Must be mobile and willing to work on a combination of field and office work, as travel will be required
- Excellent computer skills, proficiency with common industry software is required
- Strong workplace health and safety practices
Main Responsibilities:
- Working on all assignments on projects of low to high complexity
- Coordinate staff on a project level
- Reviewing reports, proposal and technical specifications
- Using professional judgement independently
- Completing analysis of information and report preparation
- Preparation of specifications, proposals and other documentation
- Complete invoicing for projects completed
- Client contact and business development
